Dream Journal with Meanings of Dreams

        Morning of May 11, 2013. Saturday.         This was an odd but very vivid dream (semi-lucid, becoming fully lucid). It may have resulted from a new type of meditation with affirmations I have been trying for the first time (which always brings unexpected new dreams that are sometimes far from actual intent in meditation the first time around). It goes along the lines of mentally saying "One point one, I am dreaming...", "this (situation, feeling, or imagery) is in my dream", "Two point one, I am dreaming...", and so on, up to "One hundred point one...I am dreaming..." assuming I get that far before entering my dream state. I use "point one" because if I decide to continue with "programs" in this same way, I will have to continue with "point two" and so on, so as not to confuse different desired dream elements and sequences at a later date.         In my dream, I am in a typical combined building of two bigger...

        Morning of December 18, 1980. Thursday.         Summary: A town called "Circus World" does not seem to exist regardless of billboard indicators.         I am riding in a car in the back seat - with my older sister Carol also in the car in the front seat, and her husband Mel is driving (it seeming to be the car they own at the time in reality). It seems to be nearing six o‘clock in the evening. We are looking for an actual town near La Crosse or West Salem apparently called "Circus World", though that is actually an attraction in Baraboo, Wisconsin in reality. Mel is regarding the billboards to determine where to go, but we never reach the town. It almost seems as if the fictional town of Circus World had moved years before. We go past some of the same sketchy billboards a few times over - most displaying an elephant head (back and forth in both directions, north and south, on a few occasions, Mel trying to determine if there is a main road that goes to the ...

        Early evening of March 16, 2017. Thursday.         I am viewing a beautiful intricate scene that looks much like an animated embroidery scene in a light blue silvery monochrome. It mainly features a peacock, but there is also a large bell that hangs down from the center of a mirrored branch and vine pattern.         The peacock climbs down, eventually becoming upside-down, and crawls into the bell.         This is very straightforward. The embroidery is of the type I saw on pillowcases when young, so there is the dream sign, then the return flight metaphor activates with a bell as the waking prompt. Although it decodes into solely dreaming and waking transition metaphors, it is unique and new (as well as with beautiful imagery).         Update: Zsuzsanna was buying a couple second-hand embroidery books at the time of my dream, certainly not something she does on any regular basis, and there was no way I could have known.

        Night of January 1, 1968. Monday.         I am with Brenda W (though she is not directly next to me and is to my right, though sometimes ahead of me). We need to get to the area where others are involved in a picnic, though this is not logical as it is not yet sunrise, though it is light enough to see most detail. There are a number of coiled sleeping snakes around the area that we have to tiptoe past. (I take these snakes to be water moccasins though they do not appear as such - "water moccasins" being a play on typical water induction and a play on not wearing "real" shoes in the dream state, that is, while asleep in bed). Their coiled bodies are about six inches in width or more. Looking closely, some snake heads seem a bit too big for their body and are about twice as big as my hand.         Morning of March 17, 2014. Monday.         I am riding in an unfamiliar nice car with a few other people. They remain unknown until the last scene. I am in the back seat. As we are going along through a mostly rural area during late afternoon, I get the vague idea to journey into "my" Enchanted Forest setting (even though I am not lucid at any point in my dream). I almost always enter it at about a twenty-two degree angle from the northern treeline while going east (depending on the overall directional orientation, which is sometimes ambiguous) but in this case, we seem to be traveling on the south edge of the area. I have gone in from other directions in dreams of years ago, but the fictional area "looks different" in that it is less like Florida than usual.         I give instructions on where to turn and the car goes in (to my right) at about a thirty degree angle and I notice another car parked along the road as we go down the road through the dense fore...

        Morning of April 10, 1976. Saturday.         There is some sort of very rare and special type of larger grouse (though more quail-like in some ways) in the backyard at Cubitis, though their size may be a typical in-dream magnification of perspective. It is supposedly "sacred" and has some sort of incredible ability to prey on humans at times as well as supposedly send human-like emotions apparently telepathically to disorient people. There are about six or seven in the yard at one point, and I am not sure if it is a good idea to even be outside.         I somehow fall down near the south side of the shed (fairly close to the carport) and feel an intense and bizarre sensation like a "deep tickle" in my side and lower back, which I have had on and off all my life, especially more recently. I am aware that I have fallen on one of these "sacred grouse" and thus may be doomed because of this. I see one of them closer to my face as it walks nearer and I ...

        Morning of August 21, 1976. Saturday.         This very long dream event came about after falling asleep again before eleven o'clock in the afternoon, with the sun streaming through the windows but not directly near me. My parents were not in the house during this time. My more nightmarish dreams happened mostly in daylight, sometimes with the sun's rays shining in through the curtains or windows as here and perhaps triggered by the body's need to get up and do things, thus the dream state seems to become "hostile" to the dream self.         This one started out during the longest sleep paralysis I have ever had, about thirty to forty minutes, and it was during this time that I partly woke several times, going back into a very lucidly aware dream state. My head was "buzzing" at different times, but there was no "out of body" perception at any point. I was asleep on the couch in the middle of the living room, facing east, my head to the ...

        Morning of June 27, 2016. Monday.         I am with my wife Zsuzsanna and our children as we are now. For some reason, we are sitting in the shed which seems to be our present shed from where we live now though also seems at one point to be the shed on Loomis Street. The people in the Loomis Street house are strangers, it seems (though I only hear them talking at one point). This highly unlikely scene (of sitting around in a shed of someone we do not know, though perhaps they do not even know we are out here) does not seem unusual to me. I am seated on the floor opposite the door though Zsuzsanna is seated on an armchair to the right of the door (my viewpoint), which is open. Our children are near the wall that is perpendicular to the door.         Eventually, as I am talking to Zsuzsanna, I get an absentminded idea to say "Judy", the name of Zsuzsanna's sister.
